Module 1 · Your Role + Prep + Presentation

Module 1 of 8 · Professionalism

Show up prepared. Stay constructive.

Your goal: demonstrate dependable, respectful behavior—even when the day does not go to plan.

Before students arrive

  • Confirm the site, start time, assigned lesson, materials, and school contact. Arrive 15 minutes before class, or at your earlier assigned reporting time.
  • Read and try the activity. Prepare an approved backup and a challenge for early finishers.
  • Wear a Kodely or plain professional shirt, clean appropriate pants, and closed-toe shoes. Follow site badge/sign-in rules.
  • Put personal phone use away. Use a device only for approved class tasks or necessary communication while maintaining supervision.

Professionalism under pressure

  • Be honest and solution-focused. Say what you can do next. Do not blame coworkers, students, the school, or operations.
  • Accept feedback calmly. Listen, clarify the requested change, and act on it. Ask for help early when you need it.
  • Stay respectful. No yelling, sarcasm, insults, threats, or public arguments. Correct behavior without labeling a child.
  • Protect privacy. Do not post student photos or site details on personal social media. Share student information only with authorized people through approved channels.
  • Own follow-through. Report delays promptly in the assigned group channel and use the designated urgent contact if class coverage is at risk.

Words to use

“Thank you for flagging that. Here is what I can adjust now, and I’ll confirm the remaining details with our team.”

“I’m not certain, and I don’t want to give you the wrong information. Let me confirm with the right person.”

A positive attitude means respectful, constructive action. It does not mean hiding a concern or pretending that unsafe conditions are acceptable. Raise safety concerns immediately with designated site staff and Kodely.

Pause and practice

A site coordinator says your setup is not working. You feel the instructions you received were unclear. What do you say and do?

Check your response

Listen without arguing. Clarify what needs changing, make a safe adjustment within your role, and contact operations about anything unresolved. Do not blame someone else or promise an answer you cannot deliver.

Before marking this lesson complete: explain the response in your own words. If anything is unclear, ask onboarding@kodely.io before continuing. The practice reveal itself is not a scored answer or a recorded signature.
