Earth & Space

10-week Grades 3-5 science course. Kids meet the solar system, ride the water cycle, sort rocks by hardness, model volcanoes and earthquakes, and finish by presenting their own planet to the class.

What kids will do

  • Line up in solar system orbit order
  • Trace their own shadow to prove the Sun moves the sky
  • Model all 8 Moon phases with Oreos
  • Build Earth's 4 layers in Play-Doh and slice it open
  • Make real rain inside a ziploc bag
  • Sort rocks by hardness using the Mohs scale
  • Erupt a baking-soda volcano and shake a Jell-O earthquake table
  • Build a shoebox constellation viewer they take home
  • Launch a straw rocket and iterate through 3 design rounds
  • Present ONE planet to the class in a final showcase

Every activity is pulled from a real, free, published curriculum
